Universities are considered critical constructors for developing socio-economic and cultural change for any country or nation. Wherever universities are established, there will be a geographical change in the concerned area. Such high study buildings are the beautiful face of any place. These play an essential role in producing highly skilled students, researchers, scientists, philosophers, economists, and IT experts, which are perceived to meet the targets for promoting and developing any county or nation.

Universities are the political face of any country, which promotes criticism, activism, and student politics

by the young emerging students who are the fundamental source to shape the society.

Mekuran division lies in the coastal belt of Balochistan with three districts Kech, Gwadar, and Panjgur. According to the 2017 census, the division had a population of 1,484,788, including 800,373 males and 694,274 females.

The division has topped in literacy rate in the province compared to Quetta, Zhob, Loralai, Naseerabad, Rakhshan, Kalat, and Sibi. Similarly, in terms of literacy, it is ranked in the eighth position across the country. Another plus point is that it is the only division in Pakistan with three Universities in each district.

The first university, the University of Turbat (UoT) established in 2012. The governor of Balochistan assigned Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, the university’s first vice-chancellor. He is a committed man who worked hard for the development and success of the university. When the university met its target, it opened its first campus in district Gwadar in September 2016 after becoming a full-flagged University in November 2018. The second milestone was another campus in district Panjgur; UoT Panjgur was established on April 8, 2019. Mr. Aftab Aslam became the first Assistant registrar of the campus. He keeps shoulder to the wheel with his faculty members and kicks off the district’s campaign for admissions. In the starting year, Around 400 candidates from different areas of Panjgur and its neighboring communities appeared in the entry test and interviews conducted by the Panjgur Campus of the University of Turbat for admission to various graduate programs.

The faculty members become successful and meet their targets. Within three years, the campus became a full-fledged university named the University of Mekuran Panjgur. Until filing the report, no official was given the university’s incumbent vice-chancellor.

The University of Mekuran was a desire of the people of Panjgur and the entire region to fulfill their dreams.
